Molecules and Cells is published by the Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology. It is published bimonthly in a printed (ISSN 1016-8478) and an electronic version (ISSN 0219-1032). It is an international journal devoted to the advancement and dissemination of fundamental knowledge concerning molecular and cellular biology. Papers on a broad range of topics of general interest to molecular and cell biologists are published. The JOURNAL is indexed in the Science Citation Index, Current Contents/Life Science, Scisearch, Research Alert, and Index Medicus.
The JOURNAL publishes papers based on original research that are judged, after editorial peer review, to make a substantial contribution to molecular and cellular biology. Manuscripts may be submitted for consideration as Research Articles or Communications.
Communications should present new information of exceptional interest and novelty to readers of the JOURNAL. They are not intended to be short versions of Regular Articles. Because the criteria for acceptance of Communications are stringent and the review process is expedited, an Associate Editor may judge a manuscript unsuitable without obtaining a full review.
The JOURNAL publishes Minireviews, all of which are by invitation only. A minireview contains a concise update of rapid developments in some aspect of molecular and cellular biology. Recently, it has launched a section entitled ¡°Scientific Forum¡± that consists of a series of minireviews. This section presents new concepts and insights as well as reviewing basic knowledge in an area of molecular and cell biology.
